In Module 1, we have been learning about Instructional Design, and Project Based Learning. Some of us may have been more familiar with those approaches than others, but hopefully you have all found something interesting/worthwhile in the material we have looked at. In the comments section reflect on how this module has made you think about your role as an instructional designer, and write about any other observations, questions etc that you may have. How are you finding working in an online environment?

This module has really opened my eyes. I am excited about putting together the unit I have in mind. Also being able to revisit other units to rework.

This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways:
- I saw the importance of project based learning and how it can affect students when it is constructed effectively
- I have started to think of my subjects and the subjects for next year in a different way
- I have started to plan and think about what I want to create for my unit
I have found working online quite easy and I am very comfortable with it. The intel website we are using is well set up and I don’t have any difficulty finding my way around.
I really enjoyed reading about the project learning units in the article we read.

This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways:
- How complex the task I have set for me may become
- The importance of project based learning within the classroom and how it can change a students classroom experience
-I have started to think about what I want to create for my unit
- How I can implement what we have discussed in my existing classes.
I am not having any difficulty, but am getting a small feeling that I may be in over my head.
I guess we shall see!
Let’s all have fun!!!

I am excited about what is possible and look forward to sharing ideas. Like you, Alexia, I have started to think about the unit I want to create.
The online environment is quite easy, and not what I was expecting. I think I thought it would be harder to understand I didn’[t realize that teaching strategies we already use would form the basis for it

I’m a little overwhelmed by how much there is to learn, but am finding it interesting. The article on “project learning ” is very interesting and makes me think bout how to change my teaching and improve student learning.
I’m finding working online a little confusing , but hopefully it will become easier.
I’m looking forward to learning from my collegues.

As a result of working through this module, I have had reinforced the importance of using student focused projects. Using the ‘net, per se, is not an issue, having utilised it for a variety of purposes for many years, however, I have learnt how to use an application that I had previously start to use, but never really understood how to use it.

As an instructional designer, I have now begun to think in more depth about how I can include technology and project based learning into my classes. I have also started to think about my unit of work.
